Unfortunately today there is not alot of original music that does not involve "blowing caps in peoples backsides" etc. So I understand if you cannot full grasp something technically challenging like a RHCP song.

Wow, you are being pretty ignorant. None of the bands you listed are *emo* and it is rather insulting that you place that word in the same sentence as Guns N Roses, especially.
Hair metal glam was what made the 80's huge. Long hair was the in thing at the time and the makeup was their stage appeal. It made for an awesome concert performance.
If anything else, appreciate the music. 80's hair metal brought with it some of the greatest music, in my opinion. Listen to one song with the intense power chords and electrifying lead guitar solos and you will forget about the tight pants and find the musical talent. Believe it or not, but these bands are called *bands* for a reason.
Also, just a guess...but you are rather young arn't you? Sorry if I am wrong, but you seem extremely closed minded. You don't have to literally enjoy the fads of yesterday, but have some respect at least, and know your facts.
