Why do some pro basket ball teams let the players wear head bands but others don't?

Seems like men with African American hair NEED them!!! I am specifically thinking of Ben Wallace.

Yeah, I heard that Scott Skiles who coaches the Chicago Bulls did not want head bands to be worn during games. The coaches are the ones that decide that. I really think it comes down to the NBA's dress code. It is probably because they don't look very professional and coaches feel they need to enforce it. I really think that coaches want basketball to be like it was in the 90's and 80's where people did not wear many headbands and great plays and showmanship were the order of the day.

depends on the coach.

IT'S THE TEAM POLICY, AND IN THE OFF-SEASON THE BULLS MIGHT CHANGE THEIR POLICY FOR BIG BEN

team policy

some teams have tougher dress codes than other teams, and arm/headbands may be against dress code

very unsure..but like what everyone said, it's a team policy...as it is enforced in the Chicago Bulls organization. Look at the Kings, haha....three white guys...all wear head bands at times... Brad Miller, Mike Bibby, and Kevin Martin.. wierd yeah?... i guess its not just a black thing, but they try to just look cool... maybe it is just a style... "to be a basketball player"... to go on further..why does Brad Miller need a shooting sleeve?
